This is how Vince's 55 Crown Victoria looked on the day that he dropped it off. The plans for this car are: New engine and trans, complete rewire, Air Ride, new Autometer gauges, front disc conversion and a lot of fabrication.
The interior was very nice. We will be incorporating the new gauges into the dash without taking too much away from the original look. We will also be installing a Flaming River polished stainless column a set of Lokar pedals and shifter and a Vintage Air AC system.
The engine compartment is ready for new engine and trans mounts.
This is the old motor that we removed.
We pulled the old motor and trans and have our mock-up engine / trans in place to locate the mounts.
This is a shot of the GM Create 350ci that we will be installing in the Vic.
The car will get bagged and these old drum brakes will be replaced with disc brakes.
This is the original dash. The plans are to install the gauges where the cable knobs are and we will mount the radio inside the dash right where the speaker is. A flip of a switch and the radio will rise from the dash.
With the mockup motor still in place, we start to layout the firewall using poster board as a templet.
Here is the firewall roughed-in. We also had to fabricate a new tunnel and floor sections. We found some rot during that time and had to rebuild floor supports and some body mounts.
A little bodywork and a couple coats of etching primer and it's starting to look pretty good.
Drop the mockup motor back in to make sure it still fits.
Jumping ahead, the firewall is painted and the new creat engine is dropped in.
The car is now bagged . . . here is a shot of it laying down.
Everyting is now complete under the hood.
The dash with a different look.
Ready for the road.
